Front-facing LED modules illuminate a translucent acrylic face for daytime and nighttime brand visibility, while rear-facing LEDs project a soft halo glow against the mounting surface. Engineering & Customization Options
Combination lit letters require careful engineering to balance front and rear illumination. Sunlite Signs handles this engineering for every order, optimizing LED placement, module count, and power distribution based on letter size, depth, and face color. Our standard specifications include:
Face Colors: Full range of translucent acrylic colors. White faces with colored LEDs or colored faces with white LEDs — both approaches produce excellent results. We can color-match to any PMS or RAL specification.
Halo Color: Typically white (3000K to 6500K Kelvin options). Colored halo LEDs are available for special applications. The halo color can differ from the face color for creative contrast effects.
Letter Depth: 5" standard depth accommodates dual LED arrays comfortably. Depths from 3.5" to 8" are available depending on letter size and design requirements.
Standoff Distance: 1" to 2" standard for the rear halo projection. Adjustable per project to match wall texture and desired glow width.
