Raceway mounting is the industry's most efficient channel letter installation method. Letters are pre-wired and mounted to an aluminum raceway box at our facility, creating a single assembly that bolts to the building fascia with minimal field wiring. Sunlite Signs fabricates raceways from 0.063" aluminum sheet, formed and welded to match the letter set's layout. Standard raceway depths are 3" and 4", with custom depths available for specific clearance requirements. Raceways are painted to match the building fascia color — specify the color at order time and we will match any PMS, RAL, or custom color specification.
Every raceway assembly ships fully wired with UL recognized power supplies, quick-connect fittings for primary power connection, and complete wiring diagrams. Your installation crew makes a single primary power connection, bolts the raceway to the wall, and the job is done. Our German-engineered assembly process ensures clean wire routing, secure module connections, and UL 48 listed compliance for the complete assembly.
Raceway Specifications & Customization
Every raceway is custom-fabricated to match the specific letter set layout. Standard specifications include:
- Material: 0.063" aluminum sheet, welded construction with smooth, finished edges
- Dimensions: Custom length and height to fit the letter layout. Standard depth of 3" or 4". Heights typically 6" to 12" depending on letter size
- Finish: Automotive-grade polyurethane paint in any color. Most commonly painted to match the building fascia for a discreet appearance
- Mounting: Pre-drilled mounting holes with specified bolt pattern. We provide fastener recommendations based on your wall type (concrete, steel, wood frame, EIFS)
- Electrical: Internal power supply mounting, pre-wired letter connections, and external primary power access point with waterproof connector
For multi-tenant shopping centers with landlord-specified raceway standards, we can fabricate to match existing raceway dimensions and mounting patterns.
